Junior STEM Club's program offerings build upon the Ontario curriculum for STEM-based learning. We currently offer 6 programs, Mini Innovators and Mini Coders for children ages 3-5, Junior Innovators, Junior Robotics, Junior Coders and Build & Code for children ages 6-9.


Mini Innovators Program (Age 3 - 5 Years)

This 4-week, 45-minute program focuses on developing STEM fundamentals to prepare young learners (ages 3-5) for a future in STEM learning.

In the first part of the class, children are introduced to a STEM concept and complete a craft project, using their creativity and simple materials. In the second part of the class, children are guided through a build project using our Rokenbok blocks to reinforce the STEM concept. Students work on counting, classification, symmetry, sequence and comparison and learn to follow visual instructions to complete a project.

One parent is required to participate with their child in this program.

COST: $85 +TAX

Mini Coders Program (Age 3 - 5 Years)

This 6-week, 45-minute program for ages 3-5 focuses on developing early coding skills using a series of fun, engaging logic-based toys to encourage critical thinking, problem solving and sequential thought.

One parent is required to participate with their child in this program.

Junior Innovators Program (Age 6 - 9 Years)

This 4-week, 1 hour program for ages 6-9 focuses on engineering and design principals. In this program, students learn how to make things strong and make things move. We will build simple machines such as levers, pulleys, gear trains and incline planes.

In the first part of the class, students are introduced to a STEM concept and complete a craft project, using their creativity and simple materials. In the second part of the class, children are guided through a build project using our Rokenbok blocks to reinforce the STEM concept. Students will uncover many different ways to solve a problem and will focus on creating and improving a design.

COST: $95 +TAX

Junior Robotics Program (Age 6 - 9 Years)

This 6-week, 1 hour program for ages 6-9 introduces students to the principals of robotic movement.  Each week will bring new challenges as students learn real-world applications for robotic machines and learn about robotic movement. Students will work on developing their problem solving skills and design thinking as they build pistons, chair lifts, and motorized cranes.

Junior Coders Program (Age 6 - 9 Years)

Junior STEM Club

This 6-week, 1 hour per week, program introduces coding principles. Children ages 6-9 will work on building fundamentals skills in critical thinking, problem solving, sequential thought and collaboration through a variety of coding applications. Students will work together in groups to solve challenges and demonstrate their solutions to their peers. No prior knowledge of coding or robotics is necessary.

Build & Code Program (Age 7 - 9 Years)

In this 6-week hands-on program, kids will learn about the individual parts that make up a computer, assemble a mini computer with guided instruction and code their computer using Scratch programming language.  

NOT CURRENTLY OFFERED
